Callaway EDGE 10 Piece Golf Club Set Review

If you are a beginner golfer or just getting back into golf, the Callaway EDGE 10 Piece Golf Club Set is a great choice.

This complete set is designed for distance and accuracy, making it easier to hit straight shots from tee to the green. This set comes with everything you need to play golf and can save money by buying everything together.

Unfortunately, this set comes in a box and doesn’t include a golf bag. But the clubs themselves are high quality and designed to help you improve your game.

The price is slightly higher than some other beginner sets on the market, but the quality of the clubs is worth the investment.

Let’s get into the details…

Why Choose the Callaway EDGE 10 Piece Golf Club Set

Callaway has been in the golf industry for a while, and they have a great reputation among beginner and professionals alike. The EDGE 10 Piece Golf Club Set is a great example of this, as it is designed to help you hit longer and straighter shots.

The set includes a driver, 3-wood, 5-hybrid, 6-9 cavity back irons, pitching wedge, sand wedge, and putter.

The Callaway EDGE Driver

The Callaway EDGE driver comes in 10.5° loft and oversized head. The titanium head feels and looks good and is designed to have a low center of gravity, which helps launch the ball effortlessly into the air.

The Callaway EDGE driver is well-built and would easily outperform some of the more expensive drivers on the market. This is another reason why this set warrants a higher price tag as the driver is one of the best options in a complete set.

When it comes to distance and accuracy, it is hard to find a better option in this price range. The only downside is that it’s not adjustable, but that’s not generally an issue for beginner golfers.

Speaking of forgiving drivers, I have recently tested the Taylormade SIM2 Max driver with 12° loft and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. This driver also has an oversized head, but it’s slightly more forgiving on miss-hits due to the higher loft.

The Callaway EDGE 3 Wood

The Callaway EDGE 3 wood has a large sweet spot and comes with 15° loft. It is designed to be easy to hit from the tee or fairway, and the titanium head provides great distance and trajectory.

Callaway EDGE 3 Wood

The 3 wood is also very lightweight, which makes it easy to swing with speed.

The Callaway EDGE 3 wood is a great option for beginner golfers who are looking for extra distance and forgiveness. It’s also a good choice for those who struggle with their driver.

The Callaway EDGE 5 Hybrid

Unlike a lot of sets this Callaway Edge comes with a hybrid too.

If you struggle with hitting long irons then the Callaway EDGE 5 hybrid is a great option for you. Hybrids are also great when in the rough, on long par 3s, or even when around the greens for those long putts.

This hybrid comes in 25° loft and has a very forgiving design. The head is also slightly larger than average, which makes it easier to hit the ball straighter. I find it easier to use a hybrid over the 3 wood when hitting from the fairway as do most beginners.

As Callaway said, “The edge hybrid is made with a compact head, with chamfered solemn which is extremely forgiving on miss-hits and super easy to hit long and straights from all kind of lies.”

The Callaway EDGE Irons

This complete set includes 6-9 cavity back irons which are designed for forgiveness and stability.

The heads are slightly larger than average, making them much easier to hit as well.
This set also includes a pitching wedge and sand wedge which is great for those around the greens.

These wedges have spin technology which helps to control your shots. Having a sand wedge is another big advantage this set has over some of its competitors.

The Callaway EDGE Putter

The putter is the most used club in the bag, and it’s important to have one that gives you confidence on the greens. This is where the complete stands out from most competitors and warrants the higher price tag as it includes an Odyssey White Hot Pro putter.

Odyssey White Hot Putter

The White Hot putters are some of the most popular in golf thanks to their soft feel and balance. The classic shaped head and Super Stroke grip will no doubt help your short game.

Alternatives to the Callaway EDGE Golf Set

Callaway Strata Complete Set

The Callaway Strata Complete Set is an excellent alternative to the Callaway Edge. There are a few options to choose from including a 9-piece, 12-piece, 14-piece, and 16-piece.

Callaway Strata Golf Club Set

The 12-piece set is very comparable to the Edge and instead recommend the 14 or 16-piece set. These sets include a few more clubs which can help with different parts of the game.

The driver in this set has more loft (12 degrees) which helps beginners get the ball airborne and maximize distance. It also includes an extra hybrid and better stand bag too.

Wilson Profile SGI

The Wilson Profile SGI is another great alternative to the Callaway Edge. This set includes 10 clubs and a lightweight cart bag, offering a wide range of clubs to cover all the distances on the golf course.

TaylorMade RBZ Premium Golf Set

The TaylorMade RBZ is a high-end alternative to the Callaway Edge, offering top-of-the-line clubs for serious golfers.

TaylorMade RBZ Complete Set

This set includes a driver, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, and a putter, all designed with advanced technology to maximize distance and accuracy. The TaylorMade RBZ set is aimed at mid to high handicappers who are looking to take their game to the next level.

The clubs feature a variety of technology, including a speed pocket, inverted cone technology, and perimeter weighting. These features are much more helpful for beginners and not typically found in full club sets.

While the TaylorMade RBZ set is on the pricier side, it is a great investment if you’re serious about improving.

Closing Thoughts

Overall, the Callaway EDGE 10 Piece Golf Club Set is a great value for the price. It includes everything you need to get started, and the clubs are designed for forgiveness and are easy to use.

The driver and 3-wood have titanium heads and low center of gravity to help you launch the ball straighter and higher. The 5-hybrid is extremely forgiving on miss-hits, and the cavity back irons are designed for stability and straight shots.

While pitching and sand wedges have spin technology to help you control your shots around the greens. Lastly, the putter has a white-hot insert for a smooth roll and stroke-stabilizing grip.

The only downside is that it does not come with a golf bag, but otherwise it is a great value for the price. Although it is only a 10-piece set, it will cover all your needs as a beginner golfer. And when you are ready to move to the next level, you can always add more clubs to your bag.
