Finding the right set of clubs for your game can be a daunting task, especially when you’re just getting started out in the sport.
If you’re looking for a great starter set, then the Callaway Strata Golf Set is definitely worth considering.
This complete package includes everything you need to hit the course and start improving your game right away. The Callaway Strata 12-Piece Men’s Club Set is the perfect set for golfers of all levels.
With a lightweight 460cc forged driver, fairway woods with graphite shafts, easy-to-hit hybrids, and perimeter-weighted irons, this set offers maximum performance right out of the box.
The set also includes a putter, stand bag and head covers for the driver and woods.
Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from the Callaway Strata 12-Piece Men’s Club Set.
What is the Callaway Strata Golf Set?
The Callaway Golf Company is a manufacturer of golf clubs, golf balls, and other golf-related equipment. It was founded in 1982 by Ely Reeves Callaway Jr. and is headquartered in Carlsbad, California.

The Callaway Strata Golf Set is a 12-piece golf set that is good for beginners. It includes everything you need to start playing, 460cc driver, 3 fairway wood, 5 hybrid, irons 6 – PW, and a Putter.
The bonus is the 2 head covers that will stop the annoying clicking sound when the clubs are stored in the bag.
The set also comes with a lightweight stand bag which I must say is pretty impressive for the price. It has a lot of pockets, a rain hood, and even backpack straps if you ever wanted to use it as such.
The 12-piece Strata set is an excellent choice for any golfer, offering a top-notch combination of quality clubs, a carrying bag and great value.
Pricing
The price for the whole golf set and the bag is just under $400, which is a great deal considering everything that you get.
Of course, the quality is not as good as you would get if you spent $1,000, but it is still a great set for beginners.
Instead of spending a fortune on a set that might not be right for you, invest in golf lessons and if you enjoy the game then treat yourself to a nicer set.
Alternatively, I would recommend getting fitted for clubs at a local golf shop.
Callaway Strata Driver
The Callaway Strata Driver is very forgiving and easy to hit. It has a 460cc head with 10.5 degree loft and a regular flex shaft.
The large head gives you confidence when teeing off, and the regular flex is good for beginners.

The driver is made with a titanium composite construction which Callaway says makes the club light but strong.
I found the driver to be very forgiving, and I was able to hit the ball straight most of the time.
The bonus is that you are getting a head cover with the driver to protect it when it’s not in use.
The disadvantage of the Callaway Strata Driver is that it doesn’t have an adjustable loft, which means you can’t customize the club to your swing.
Callaway Strata Fairway Wood
The Callaway Strata Fairway Wood is a great club for beginners.
It has an oversized head that makes it very forgiving and gives you confidence when hitting the ball.

The more aerodynamic head shape also helps you hit LONG, high-flying shots.
The loft on the 3-wood is 15.5 degrees, and it has a 42.00″ length and a regular flex shaft.
As per the driver, the fairway wood also comes with a headcover.
Callaway Strata Hybrid
I really like the hybrid because it’s so versatile. It can be used for long shots, or approach shots, and it’s just a great all-around club.
If I end up in the rough, I know I can rely on my hybrid to get me out and back onto the fairway.

The loft on the 5-hybrid is 26 degrees, and it has a 37.75″ length and a regular flex shaft.
Once you get used to it, you will be hitting the ball long and straight in no time.
Although I found it easier to hit the hybrid, I would probably prefer 5 iron because I am now used to it, but it really is a personal preference.
Callaway Strata Irons
The set contains 6, 7, 8, 9, and pitching wedge irons. Of course, you can always buy additional irons if you find that you need them, but I feel that you are getting the right balance with this set.

The irons have a steel shaft and are cavity back. They are very forgiving, and I was able to hit the ball straight most of the time.
Of course, there were times when I sliced or hooked the ball, but that is to be expected with any golf club.
The expanded sweet spot and the low center of gravity also help with getting the ball airborne and keeping it straight.
I was very happy with the irons, and I think they are a great addition to the set.
Callaway Strata Wedges
As mentioned above this set comes with a pitching wedge, but you can always buy additional wedges if you find that you need them.
I would definitely recommend getting a sand wedge and perhaps a lob wedge as well.

The loft on the pitching wedge is 44 degrees, and it has a regular flex shaft. The pitching wedge is great for approach shots and getting out of the sand.
Callaway Strata Putter
Now I am not a big fan of a blade putter, but I have to say that this putter is very forgiving. I was able to make a lot of putts with it, and I didn’t experience too many 3-putts.

The reason why I am not a big fan of blade putters is that they can be difficult to control, but this one seems to have a good sweet spot.
The putter is 35″ long and has a standard grip. It’s a great addition to the set, and I think it’s a good choice for beginners.
Callaway Strata Golf Bag
In an ideal world, every golfer would have their own golf cart, but let’s be realistic here. Most of us don’t have the luxury of a golf cart, and we have to walk the course.
That’s why I really like the Callaway Strata Golf Bag because it has a double strap system that makes it very comfortable to carry. The bag is also very lightweight, which is always a bonus.

There are plenty of pockets for all your gear, and the bag even comes with a rain hood. I think this is a great bag for beginners, and it’s very reasonably priced.
The stand is also very sturdy, and it’s easy to set up and take down. I’ve had problems with other golf bags where the stand is flimsy and difficult to use.
I was very happy with the Callaway Strata Golf Bag, and I think it’s a great addition to the set.
