Titleist TSR2 Driver Review

Every time Titleist comes out with a new driver, the best players in the game run to test it. However, in the last few years, Titleist has been trying to change that narrative. They want ALL golfers to run to test their club, not just the best ones.

We tested the TSR2 driver, and the results were really impressive, enough to confidently say that this is a club that can work for any golfer.

We will take you through some of the technology, data, and overall impressions of what the TSR2 brings to the table for golfers.

Titleist TSR2 Driver TLDR

If you want a classic looking clubhead that truly feels as though it launches the ball off the face, the Titleist TSR2 driver is the way to go.

Drivers aren’t always known for their feel in the same way that irons are, but the feel of the TSR2 is amazing. Overall, it was one of the straightest drivers we tested in 2024.

Technology

Titleist is a technologically advanced company that is always looking for the latest advancements to help its equipment stand out. The Titleist TSR2 features some upgrades that help improve forgiveness and ball speed.

  • Multi-Plateau Variable Face Thickness design increases ball speed and consistency when you miss the face.
  • Made with Aerospace Grade Titanium to be more aerodynamically efficient
  • SureFit Hosel provides 16 combinations of loft and lie adjustments – it provides a true custom fit
  • Low and forward center of gravity increases launch and reduce speed

What Makes The Titleist TSR2 Great?

We tested the Titleist TSR2 at the driving range to see how it compared to other golf drivers of 2024. We also took it out on the course to get a real feel for it when it’s in play. Here are the things that really stood out about the TSR2.

Great Distance on The Miss Hits

The Titleist TSR2 is long. I can’t tell you that Titleist has always been known for its distance-producing golf clubs. However, this TSR2 can jump off the face. If you aren’t getting great distance on your driver, you won’t give up any to switch to the TSR2.

One of the Best Looking

The way the driver looks from the top down is important. You need to feel as though you have confidence and that the ball is going to end up in the fairway. The TSR2 has more of a classic look to it.

The clubhead is deep, and it sits nice and straight on the ground.

You know that feeling when you set up to hit one, and it’s just waiting for you to go after it? The TSR2 helped us feel like that.

Helps You Get A Glimpse of What The Pros Get

Titleist makes some of the best golf clubs in the game. Professional golfers use Titleist on a daily basis to win PGA Tour events.

The TSR2 doesn’t feature all of this same technology, but it features a good amount of it.

If you want a glimpse of what the pros play with without having to lose all the forgiveness, the TSR2 can do it.

Adjustability

Titleist has put together a great fitting system with the SureFit Hosel. There are 16 different combinations.

When testing we tried a few different configurations to see what worked out best and it wasn’t hard to see the differences in performance between each setting.

If your game is in the middle of some changes and it makes you nervous to get stuck with just one club, the TSR2 is more like owning 16 different drivers.

Pros

The Titleist TSR2 is one of the most consistent drivers in the game, here are the main pros we noticed.

  • Very accurate, even when missing the center of the face
  • Great looking top-down appearance
  • Easy adjustability with a big impact
  • Some of the same technology the pros use
  • Ball jumps off the face

Cons

For low handicappers, the TSR2 may be too forgiving. There are very few negatives to the TSR2.

  • It’s a little quiet at impact, not as explosive as some others
  • Not easily workable; go with the TSR3 if you want workability

Who Should Use Titleist TSR2?

If you are still on the fence as to whether the TSR2 could be for you, here is who should be using the TSR2.

  • Mid to high  handicap golfers: you’ll get a perfect blend of distance and forgiveness that’s ready to handle the occasional miss hit from the amateur player.
  • Anyone seeking a combo of distance and accuracy: with plenty of distance, high ball speed, and consistency, it’s a great all around club.
  • High launch and low spin: the longer the ball stays in the air the further it will fly, low spin helps increase total distance with a few more yards of roll.

Titleist Golf Driver Models Compared

All four of the Titleist golf drivers have unique playing benefits. The TSR2 is one of the most popular as it’s built for the mid handicap golfers. The TSR3 is the version most golf professionals are using, while the TSR4 is the lowest spinning model.

Final Thoughts

Try the TItleist TSR2. It’s a great golf driver and one that you can keep in your bag for years to come. The Titleist name is strong when it comes to technology advancements, so your money is well spent on these clubs.

If it’s been more than four years since you updated your golf driver, the technology in the TSR2 will stand out and be a significant improvement from what you are used to. Anyone in the 7—to 27 handicap range should have the TSR2 on their list of drivers to consider in 2024.
