TaylorMade Stealth Women’s Driver Review

When it comes to women’s golf clubs, it can be tough to find the right fit for your game.

Most equipment companies simply don’t give players quality options as stock shaft selections are not a good fit and head options are often not made for a slower swing.

This is where the Stealth women’s drivers comes in.

The Stealth Women’s driver is for players who want a softer colorway while still getting all of the benefits that the Stealth has to offer.  It is for players who value a blend of forgiveness, distance, and technology.

In this article, we will thoroughly examine our team’s in-depth evaluation of the Stealth Women’s head through rigorous testing.

We will analyze multiple facets, encompassing sound, visual appeal, tactile feedback, forgiveness, and distance.

Additionally, we will investigate the range of stock shaft options, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses, leading to our final recommendation.

TaylorMade Stealth Women’s Driver Review

The TaylorMade Stealth Women’s driver was introduced in 2022, building upon the success of the Stealth model.

Like its predecessor, it featured an advanced 60x carbon face, establishing a new standard in the industry. This driver is exclusively offered in right-handed configurations and provides loft choices of 10.5 and 12 degrees.

It comes with a slightly shorter length than the traditional standard, measuring 44.25 inches, and a stock swing weight of C8, designed to cater to the preferences of female players.

Sound, Look, and Feel

During our testing, we observed that in contrast to earlier TaylorMade models such as the SIM 2, the Stealth Plus generated a comparatively subdued sound and a less prominent tactile feedback.

Speaking from our team’s perspective, as individuals who favor a deeper sound and a more pronounced tactile sensation, none of these clubheads particularly resonated with us in this regard. However, if sound and tactile sensation do not rank as your primary considerations, it is manageable.

The Stealth Women’s driver boasts an appealing design featuring a silver metallic finish complemented by a vibrant red clubface. We found this combination visually appealing.

The matte metallic top surface was effective in mitigating sun glare, and the red clubface contributed to our ability to establish a consistent setup when addressing the ball.

Forgiveness

The Stealth Women’s driver features a 60x carbon twist face, representing a remarkable technological advancement that enabled Taylormade to redistribute weight from the face to the outer edges and rear of the head.

This modification, in effect, greatly boosted the Moment of Inertia (MOI) and forgiveness when compared to earlier versions.

Based on our testing, we reached the verdict that the Stealth is the most forgiving driver we have had the opportunity to test.

Its combination with the shorter shaft length and lower swing weight, in contrast to a typical men’s club, renders it an ideal choice for female players.

Distance

Beyond its forgiveness attributes, the inclusion of the 60x carbon twist face provided TaylorMade with the means to push ball speeds to the brink of the USGA’s allowable limit.

Alongside the carbon face, the Stealth HD driver also incorporates a through-slot speed pocket strategically positioned behind the clubface. This precisely engineered milled cup contributes to enhancing the face’s pliability, resulting in elevated ball speed and an overall heightened performance level.

In addition to these great features, the lighter C8 swing weight is perfect for women players looking to pick up a little extra speed.

Most other drivers swing weighted at D1-D3 are simply too heavy for the average lady player and costs them a ton of distance.

Key Technologies

The technologies among all of the Stealth line of products are very similar to past TaylorMade models.

They are tweaked slightly from club to club to achieve designed forgiveness, distance, and playability.

Thru-Slot Speed Pocket

This speed pocket is meant to preserve ball speeds on off-center hits.  Just like the Stealth driver this is a small pocket positioned directly behind the face that aids in face flexion.

60x Carbon Twist Face

Starting in 2018, TaylorMade’s twist face has become another one of the staples on their fairway woods and drivers.  The twist face is made to ensure off center hits curve back to the target, making it easier to keep the ball in play.

4 Degree Loft Sleeve

The Stealth Women’s driver features a 4 degree loft sleeve that enables players to adjust loft by 2 degrees either direction.   The loft sleeve also gives players the ability to set up their driver with an upright lie.

Asymmetric Inertia Generator

The Asymmetric Inertia Generator introduces advanced aerodynamics precisely during the crucial phase of the swing, just before impact.

This innovative design results in heightened clubhead velocities, simultaneously permitting the relocation of extra weight to the club’s rear to promote greater Moment of Inertia (MOI), ideal launch conditions, and enhanced forgiveness.

Recommendation

The TaylorMade Stealth Women’s driver addresses the unique needs of female golfers who seek a driver that combines forgiveness, distance, and cutting-edge technology. With its shorter length and lower swing weight, it caters specifically to slower swing players, allowing them to maximize their potential for speed and distance.

The incorporation of the 60x carbon twist face results in exceptional forgiveness, making this driver one of the most forgiving options available. While the sound and feel may be muted for those who prefer a more pronounced feedback, this is a manageable compromise for the advantages it offers.

In terms of distance, the driver performs exceptionally well, thanks to the combination of the 60x carbon twist face and the through-slot speed pocket. The lighter C8 swing weight is particularly beneficial for female players seeking to increase their clubhead speed.

Overall, our team highly recommends the TaylorMade Stealth Women’s driver for female golfers looking to elevate their game. It strikes a remarkable balance between forgiveness and distance while providing advanced technology and a visually appealing design.
